2.4 Setting General Parameters

Before using the terminal, you need to set certain general parameters, such as the site name,
system time, and call answering mode.

Procedure

Table 2-1

 Basic parameters

Parameter

Description

Site name

The site name will be superimposed on the local video indicating
the site of the terminal. When the site joins a multipoint
conference, the site name of the terminal is displayed in the
conference site list.

Location

This specifies the terminal location. After a location is selected,
the terminal automatically adjusts the time zone to a value that
corresponds to the location.

Language

This specifies the language that will be displayed on the screen
of the terminal.

Time zone

This specifies the time difference between the local time and the
Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).

Date format

This specifies the format in which the date is displayed. For
example, you can set the format to year-month-day.

Time format

This specifies the format in which the time is displayed. You can
choose between the 24-hour format and the 12-hour format.

Enter sleep mode

The terminal enters the sleep mode after a preset period if no
operation is performed on the terminal.
If this parameter is set to 

Never

, the sleep function is disabled.

System time

The system time will be the time recorded against events in the
terminal logs; if set correctly, the terminal logs will accurately
reflect the time that events occurred.

Enable daylight saving
time

The terminal clock is automatically adjusted one hour forward
after daylight saving time is enabled.

Enable NTP

After the Network Time Protocol (NTP) is enabled, the terminal
automatically synchronizes its system clock to an NTP server at
intervals of 300 seconds.
