The folding security cage should only be erected by
competent people who have read and understood
these instructions.
Check the equipment before use, if it shows any
signs of damage or excessive wear, return it to your
local HSS Hire Shop.
Ensure gloves are worn when erecting or
dismantling the cage. Whenever possible use
the carry handles fitted to the cage. Take care not
to trap fingers.
This cage is very heavy, it weighs 140kg
empty. Do not attempt to move the cage
when materials are inside.
The maximum weight capacity/payload of 400kg is
distributed as follows: 200kg on bottom shelf and
100kg on each of the top shelves.
Keep children, animals and bystanders out of the
work area while erecting and dismantling the cage.
Never use this equipment if you are ill, feeling
tired, or under the influence of alchohol or drugs
.
The cage must be located on a flat surface.
It should be erected by a minimum of two people
and be upright before attempting to unfold.
Stage One:
Lift the roof section slightly
to enable it to
swing upwards.
Stage Two:
Raise the roof to above the horizontal and hold.
Then pull the front frame away from the back
frame until the roof can rest on top.
Stage Three:
Standing at each end of the cage
pull the sides
outwards and into position,
i.e. flush against the
upright,
ensuring they have fitted into the location
channel. Do not use the front frame to pull the
sides out.

It is the hirer’s responsibility to ensure compliance
with the relevant regulations when this cage is used
to store LPG cylinders, chemicals or any other
hazardous material.
