Checking the lid switch
• Open the lid.

The “Lid / tray open”
display should light up
and the LED should
fl ash red.
After you close the lid, the display should go out
and you can start the machine again.
Checking the tray switch
• Pull the tray out.

The “Lid / tray open”
display should light
up and the LED should
fl ash red.
After you have pushed the tray in, the dis-
play should go out and you can start the
machine again.
5 Operation
Switching the hard drive shredder on
• Turn the main switch to the
I position.

The kind of material
selected before switching
off the last time is shown
on the display panel:
Hard drive or CD/DVD or magnetic tape
• If you want to process material of
the kind displayed again, press the
“Forward” button. Otherwise select
another kind of material (see Chap-
ter 6 “Menu settings”).

The shredding of the
data carrier is animated
schematically on the
display panel. But the
hand symbol indicates
that the shredder is not yet ready for opera-
tion. Do not add any more material.
 After a short time
the display changes.
The green LED on the
operator control panel
lights up. The machine
is now ready to operate.
Now you can add
material.

