Installing a DIMM

For specific DIMM population and memory speed information, see the product QuickSpecs on the Hewlett
Packard Enterprise website (

http://www.hpe.com/info/qs

).

Procedure

1.

remove the front bezel

.

2.

Power down the server

3.

Remove all power:

a.

Disconnect each power cord from the power source.

b.

Disconnect each power cord from the server.

4.

Disconnect all peripheral cables from the server.

5.

Do one of the following:

•

Extend the server from the rack

•

Remove the server from the rack

.

6.

Remove the access panel

.

7.

Remove the air baffle

.

8.

Install the DIMM:

a.

Open the DIMM slot latches.

b.

Align the notch on the bottom edge of the DIMM with the keyed surface of the DIMM slot, and
then fully press the DIMM into the slot until the latches snap back into place.
