9. Remove the jackpost and 10 screws that secure the motherboard. (Two screws secure the air
shroud for the power supplies.)
10. Lift the motherboard out of the chassis.
11. Insert the replacement motherboard and secure it with the screws and jackpost.
12. Connect the cables to the motherboard and install the air dams.
13. Install the processors, memory DIMMs, PCIe cards, PCIe risers, I/O module, bridge boards,
and power supplies
14. Install the center brace.
15. Install the rear top cover.
16. Install the front top cover.
17. Connect any external cables.
18. Connect power to the system.
19. Power up the system.
4.4.14 PCIe card replacement
In many cases, it is easiest to remove the PCIe riser withe card installed and then remove the PCIe
card from the riser. See “PCIe riser replacement” on page 4-23.
