4.4.12 Processor replacement
To replace a processor:
1. Power down the system.
2. Disconnect the system from power.
3. Remove the rear top cover.
4. Loosen the screws in the heatsink in the order shown on the heatsink.
5. Lift the heatsink and processor out of the chassis.
6. Pull the heatsink off of the processor and clean the heatsink.
7. If the replacement processor is not installed in a plastic tray, transfer the plastic tray to the
replacement processor. (Align the gold triangle on the processor with the triangle on the tray.)
8. Apply two tubes of TIM to the replacement processor in an “X” pattern with four dots, as
shown:
