Connecting Each Server to Storage Hub 12
The Storage Hub 12 is connected to the server's Fibre Channel Host Adapter using Fibre
Channel cables and GBIC modules.
1.
Install one end of a Fibre Channel cable into a GBIC module in Hub 12.
2.
Install the other end of the cable into a GBIC module within each server’s Host Adapter.
Applying Power
Make sure the power switch is off to each component.
1.
Install each component's power cord and then plug it into the AC power source.
2.
Apply power to each component in the following sequence:
a.
Fibre Channel Storage Hub 12
b.
TL895 Tape Library
c.
Fibre Channel Tape Controllers
d.
Servers
Upgrade ISV Software
Refer to the specific documentation delivered with any ISV software supporting the EBS and
upgrade if necessary.
Prepare the TL895 for Operation
After the TL895 is installed and connected to the host, perform the procedures listed below.
