Fingerprint reader cable

L96499-001

Before removing the fingerprint reader cable, follow these steps:

1.

Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn 
the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.

2.

Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.

3.

Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and then 
unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.

4.

Remove the bottom cover (see 

Bottom cover on page 39

), and then remove the following components:

a.

Battery (see 

Battery on page 41

)

b.

Solid-state drive (see 

Solid-state drive on page 44

)

c.

Fan (see 

Fan on page 60

)

d.

System board (see 

System board on page 62

)

e.

Fingerprint reader (see 

Fingerprint reader on page 70

)

Remove the fingerprint reader cable:

1.

Release the ZIF connector (1) to which the fingerprint reader cable is connected, and then disconnect 
the fingerprint reader cable from the fingerprint reader.

2.

Remove the fingerprint reader cable (2).

Reverse this procedure to install the fingerprint reader cable.
