Service shelf
The service shelf is used to service an HPE Integrity MC990 X chassis located in rack slots U01 and U06
(the two lowest chassis positions in the rack). The shelf is placed on the floor in front of the chassis to be
removed. The shelf is 17.25-inches wide and 29.7 inches long The 17.75-inch wide side is placed against
the rack.
Use the shelf as follows:
• If the chassis to be serviced is located in the bottom slot (U01), fold the four legs of the shelf flat so
that the shelf lies flat on the floor. Slide the chassis out of the rack and place the chassis on the shelf.
Turn the chassis over if you need to access components through the bottom cover.
• If the chassis to be serviced is located in slot U06, extend the shelf legs and place the shelf in front of
the rack. Slide the chassis out of the rack and place it on the shelf. Turn the chassis over if you need
to access components through the bottom cover.
