Repackaging the power supply
CAUTION:
Before removing a power supply, switch off the circuit breakers at the input end of all power cables, and
remove all the power cables to avoid device damage and bodily injury.
To repackage a power supply:
1.
Prepare the packing bag and box of the power supply. Make sure the bag is clean, dry, and not
damaged.
2.
Remove all power supplies from the chassis.

3.
Put the removed power supply into the bag.
4.
Put the packed power supply into the box, and tape the flaps of the box with packing tape.
Repackaging the card
1.
Prepare the anti-static bag and box of the card. Make sure the bag is clean, dry, and not
damaged.
2.
Remove the transceiver modules from the card.
If no transceiver module is installed on the card, go to the next step.

3.
Remove all cards from the chassis slots.
If filler panels are shipped with the switch, remove the chassis from the rack and install the filler
panels to the corresponding empty slots.

4.
Put the removed card into the anti-static bag.
The cards on the HP FlexFabric 12900 switch have protection boxes. Put the removed card into the
protection box, and then put the box into the anti-static bag.
5.
Put the packed card into the box, and tape the flaps of the box with packing tape.
NOTE:
Every HP FlexFabric 12900 switch provides filler panels for all card slots except the slot with the smallest
number for each type of card.

HP FlexFabric 12900 switches are heavy. If possible, use a mechanical lift to move the switch.
