Field Descriptions

Field Descriptions

The DDL dictionary is itself a database. HP supplies the DDL schema for the dictionary
database in the following file:

$SYSTEM.SYSTEM.DDSCHEMA

In the following subsections, the record definitions for the dictionary database files are
fully expanded to show the field descriptions. The field names and structures are the
same as those used in DDSCHEMA for the data dictionary. Some field descriptions are
expanded from referenced definitions.

DICTMAP

TOKEN MAP FILE—contains one MAP record for each token map in the
dictionary. Each record contains a map identifier, the map token number,
and the map definition. The DICTVER file contains additional information
about token maps.

DICTOBL

OBJECT BUILD LIST—contains one OBL record for each element of
each definition or record in the dictionary. Each record describes the
structure and attributes of one element.

DICTODF

OBJECT DEFINITION FILE—contains one ODF record for each object
in the dictionary. Each record identifies the object by a unique number,
and associates the number with the object type and name.

DICTOTF

OBJECT TEXT FILE—contains one OTF record for each line of text
associated with each text item. Each record identifies the text by a
unique text ID code that can be used to associate the text with fields in
the DICTCDF, DICTODF, and DICTOBL files.

DICTOUF

OBJECT USAGE FILE—contains one OUF record for each relationship
in which one object is used by another. Each record identifies the object
used and the object that uses it and indicates whether the relation
between the two objects is constraining.

DICTOUK

OBJECT USAGE KEY FILE—contains alternate keys for the DICTOUF
file.

DICTRDF

RECORD DEFINITION FILE—contains one RDF record for each record
in the dictionary. Each RDF record identifies the record, its definition,
and its file name and file type.

DICTTKN

TOKEN CODE FILE—contains one TKN record for each token code in
the dictionary. Each record identifies the token code and contains its
token type and token number.

DICTTYP

TOKEN TYPE FILE—contains one TYP record for each token type in the
dictionary. Each record identifies the token type and contains its value,
its definition number and/or OCCURS value, its associated token length,
and information about its structure.

DICTVER

TOKEN MAP FIELD VERSION FILE—contains one VER record for each
VERSION or NOVERSION clause associated with a token map.
