Introduction

Linux Image

To obtain the Linux image version, click on the Settings button on HP 
Connection Administrator, then click the System icon on the next 
screen. Within the 

General

 dialog box, there is a list of system 

information including the Image Version. The General page also 
indicates the size of the flash memory.

For more information, please refer to the 

“System”

 section in 

Chapter 

4, “Settings.”

Image Location

The image is stored in various formats. Upon the boot up process, 
certain portions of the image are decompressed and loaded in RAM. 
Some features and aspects of the image are not loaded until they are 
needed. The image is stored in three partitions as follows:

■

/dev/hda1 - ext2 - boot loader

■

/dev/hda2 - cramfs - majority of the image

■

/dev/hda3 - ext2 - optional components and home 

directories
