HP PC Ergonomic Power Solution
HP PC Ergonomic Power Solution
Your HP PC includes the Ergonomic Power Solution. Using a combination of software and hardware, the Ergonomic
Power Solution enables you to turn on the PC from the keyboard and to turn it off using the Windows 95 Shut Down
command.
The Ergonomic Power Solution includes the following features:
❒
HP Startkey keyboard
You can turn on your PC by pressing the spacebar. The PC starts up in the normal way whether or not it was previously
shut down using the power button or the Windows 95 Shut Down command.
❒
Soft power-off
You can turn off your system by using the Windows 95 Shutdown command. The Shut Down command closes all open
applications. When Windows 95 has completed its shutdown procedure, your PC will be automatically turned off.
Using Power Management in Windows 95
The HP PC has a power-saving capability that is implemented according to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
Energy Star guidelines. You can use the power management features to reduce the power used by your computer and
display when they are not in use.
There are four levels of power saving that you can configure in the Windows 95 Control Panel—two for the display and
two for the computer. For information concerning the power management features offered by the HP
Setup
program,
