Handling and storing compact disks (CDs)
Compact Disk Do’s
•
Do store the CD in its protective case or sleeve.
•
Do store the CD at temperatures b10° to +60° C (+14° F to +140° F).
•
Do allow the CD to stabilize after moving it from one temperature extreme to another before using.
•
Do wipe a dirty CD with a clean, soft cloth. Wipe in straight line, starting from the inside edges to
the outside edges in a non-circular motion.
•
Do replace damaged CDs.
Compact Disk Don’ts
•
Don’t touch the underside (unprinted surface) of the CD with your fingers.
•
Don’t scratch the reflective top surface of the CD.
•
Don’t drop the CD.
•
Don’t expose the CD to dirt, moisture or high humidity.
•
Don’t use cleaning solutions to clean the CD.
