Remove the thermal interface protective cover from the heatsink.

Verify that the heatsink is supported in this location. Always install the 18-fin heatsink on processor 1
and install the 49-fin heatsink on processor 2. For more information, see "Heatsink identification (on
page 10 )."
CAUTION:
Heatsinks specified for processors 1 and 2 are not interchangeable. Be sure to
note the appropriate location and orientation on the heatsink label. Failure to install the
heatsinks in the proper location and orientation will result in processor overheating and
reduced performance.
11.
Align and install the heatsink. Alternate tightening the screws until the heatsink is seated properly.
12.
Install the server (" Installing a server " on page 16 ).
13.
Power up the server (on page 12 ).
