Tyre packers
On light soils, the tyre packer creates an erosion-
reducing surface structure.
The tyre packer consists of two segments and is
supported in pivoting fashion to facilitate corner-
ing (steering angle 20°).
With cohesive soils the packers may become
blocked with soil and thus become considerably
heavier. This may overload machine compo-
nents. Roads may be soiled during transport.
NOTE
¾
Check the pivot joints regularly for blockage or
easy movement while the tractor is shut down.
¾
Clean the tyre packers when soil attaches to
it while the tractor is shut down.
¾
Generally clean the tyre packer before start-
ing road travel.

Maintenance
¾
Check packer bearings for tight fit.
¾
Check packer shafts for free rotation.
¾
Check packer segments for wear, deformation
and breakage.
¾
Retighten bolts / check air pressure: To allow
adequate access, turn the wheels to the end
position via the pivot joints.
