Lubrication
IMPORTANT – Only apply small single drops of light machine oil to the places indicated in red in Fig.2. This is best achieved by making a simple oil “dropper” as illustrated in Fig.1.
Insert a straightened paper clip into a cork and use a bottle cap as a container for the oil. A small drop of oil can then be picked up by the dropper and applied in exactly the right
place. Immediately wipe off any excess oil, especially from the locomotive body. Only lubricate moving parts.

Body
Removal
Turn locomotive upside down and
remove screws as shown in Fig.4.
Carefully turn locomotive the right
way up. The body will lift off easily (Fig.5).
Please keep the screws safe for re-assembly.

Replace Drive Tube On Fan
Remove body from chassis.
Remove the four screws holding the fan assembly in place (Fig.7).
Ease the rubber drive tube from the driveshaft underneath the fan unit. (fig.8)
Slide the new rubber drive tube onto the driveshaft so that approximately
1mm of the shaft is protruding from the end of the tube.
Reassemble the fan unit and lightly tighten the four screws.
Reasemble the body.
