Maintenance & Troubleshooting
1. Introduction
◆
One of the principal factors contributing to accurate and reliable results is a well-maintained
instrument. The ABX Micros
ES60 OT/CT is designed to keep this maintenance automatically to a
minimum providing that the operator is aware of its schedule. This section of the manual will
describe the daily and periodic maintenance procedures.
2. Daily maintenance

These cleaning procedures are required daily to maintain optimum performance of your ABX Micros
ES60 OT/CT.
2.1. Startup and shutdown cycles
Startup
◆
At the beginning of each working day, a startup cycle must be performed. This can be done either
automatically or manually depending how the system has been set up for (See Section 6,
8.2.1.
Settings startup cycle, page 6-17 ).
1- Switch the instrument on by pressing the ON/OFF switch.
2- When the instrument is on, press the " Status " button ( Diag.7-1 ) to display the " Status " area.
3- Press " Startup " button to run manually a startup cycle ( Diag.7-2 ).
Shutdown

At the end of each working day, a shutdown cycle must be performed.
1- Press " Exit " button ( Diag.7-3 ).

The " Exit " screen is displayed.
2- Press " Shutdown " radio button ( Diag.7-4 ).
3- Press " OK " button.
4- Once the shutdown cycle is complete switch the instrument off.
Failure to perform any of these recommended cleaning procedures can result
in decreased reliability of your system. It is important that you monitor your
analyser for the types of specimens that may cause premature cleaning other
than routine.

The shutdown mode introduces ABX Miniclean into the chambers for the
enzymatic cleaning of protein build-up on the counting chambers and
apertures. This shutdown cycle is a very important step in daily maintenance.
