1. Power down the DVR.
2. At the back of the panel, unscrew the two thumbscrews (see Figure 2-3 ).
3. Pull the panel straight out to avoid bending pins of the connectors inside.
Securing a Camera
Forethought about poor camera angles and the possibility of tampering with cameras or
vandalism can help provide optimal gathering of evidence, for corporate use, or use of
video in a court of law. See
Avoiding Installation Problems for Video on page 43 .
Powering the Multi-Media DVR
Multi-Media DVRs can auto-range: 100-240 V~, 50 / 60 Hz.
Caution This equipment shall be connected to a grounded (earthed) outlet.
Do NOT remove or defeat the ground pin of the 3-prong electrical plug.
For many cameras in a permanent installation, you can use a power supply such as an
HPTV2404UL (4 cameras) or HPTV2416UL (16 cameras).
A Multi-Media DVR should be connected to a dedicated ground circuit. The outlet and
breaker box should be marked as such. With the exception of an optional line-conditioner
and an uninterruptible power supply (UPS), nothing else should be plugged into this circuit.
