Chapter 5 - Servicing

To add additional memory card

1. Perform all the tasks described in section

Accessing the components in the workstation

.

2. Disconnect power from the workstation.

3. Remove the workstation from furniture

4. Remove the top cover of the workstation, perform the steps mentioned in section

Open the

enclosure

5. Lift the CPU shroud as illustrated in the following image

6. To access the memory slots, unlock the HDD tray notch and slide the HDD tray towards front as

illustrated in the following image.

ATTENTION

The DIMMs are hot to the touch for some time after the system has been powered down.
Allow time for the DIMMs to cool before handling them. Handle the DIMMs by the edges
and avoid touching DIMM components.

7. The DIMM sockets are now exposed. Refer to the Memory configuration for DIMM socket

configuration.
