After the unit is powered up, MAX mode on the Galaxy panel must be enabled (if this has not
already been done). This is done in engineers mode, menu 63.2.1.

NOTE:

MAX mode is not applicable to Galaxy 2 Series panels.

If the keypad and MicroMAX sections of the Keyprox have not already configured themselves
onto the system, bring the panel out of engineers mode to do so. After exiting engineer mode,
the keypad will indicate ‘1 MOD ADDED’ and show the address of the MAX.

Volume Control

The Keyprox part number CP038 has a volume control pot marked VOL at the bottom right-
hand corner of the pcb. To adjust the volume open up the keypad cover and adjust the pot
(+ or -).

Keypad Programming

The keypad side of the Keyprox requires no programming for most installations. If required, the
parameters for the keypad can be altered in programming menu

58

.

MAX Programming

The parameters for the MAX side of the Keyprox can be altered in programming menu

63.2.3

NOTE:

MAX programming is not applicable to Galaxy 2 Series panels.

Card Programming

In order for the card reader to operate, the unique serial number programmed into each card to
be used must be programmed to a separate user on the Galaxy panel. This can be simplified by
using the self-learn procedure described below. The MAX card-held function also needs to be
programmed here, to allow the card to set and unset the system. Refer to the relevant sections in
the Galaxy Panel user or installation manuals for full details. (menu 42 - codes.)

Card Self-Learn Procedure

Many proximity cards have no serial numbers printed on them, and some cards, such as MAX
tags, have encrypted numbers. However, the card number must be programmed into the Galaxy
panel to allow the card to work. To cater for this programming process, a card self-learn
procedure has been included in the Keyprox. (

This must be used for MAX tags

NOTE:

The card self-learn procedure should only be used whilst the Keyprox is in the user

menu for entering the MAX card number and the panel is waiting for the actual card number to
be entered. Use of the self-learn at other times will result in random operations.
