DEVICE DESCRIPTION
FENZY OXY-PRO is a closed-circuit self-contained breathing apparatus for escape, with pendulum type operation.
FENZY OXY-PRO allows the user to escape and survive in the event of an accident that makes the atmosphere unbreathable.
The breathed air is regenerated (the water and carbon dioxide are retained) and oxygen is supplied simultaneously by a chemic al
reagent made from potassium peroxide (KO
2
).
The apparatus is stored in a sealed metal casing that is closed by the negative pressure created inside it. The casing closing system has
a seal and elastomer protection. The casing bears a pictogram for the usage of the device and identification labels.
The apparatus essentially comprises a breathing bag containing a potassium peroxide cartridge.
The volume of the breathing bag is approximately 6 litres. It is made of antistatic fabric and is fitted with the following:
a ribbed hose with a mouthpiece and a nosepiece,
a thermal sponge fixed on the ribbed hose,
an overflow valve,
a compressed oxygen starter in the form of a capsule,
optional safety glasses, which can be in different colours.
The ribbed hose connects the breathing bag to the KO
2
cartridge.
All the apparatuses bear the following:
manufacturer's identification,
serial number,
manufacturing date,
CE identification logo,
part number.
Operating principle
The potassium peroxide (KO
2
) is contained in the cartridge of FENZY OXY-PRO. It carries out several reactions that consist in fixing the
carbon dioxide and water present in the breathed air. Oxygen is generated through that phenomenon.

Technical specifications
The operating time will depend on the effort made by the wearer and will be:
30 min for medium effort (escape situation) expressed by 35 l/min ventilation.
90 min when idle (waiting to be rescued, survival situation) expressed by 10 l/min ventilation.

USE
Only apparatuses that have been regularly maintained in keeping with requirements may be used.
Initial checks
Visual inspection:
Check the presence and condition of the protection of the opening system and the seal, and if the needle of the vacuum gauge is
in the green zone.
If the needle is in the orange zone, the vacuum must necessarily be restored till it goes back to the green zone.
If the needle is in the red area, the apparatus must be withdrawn from service immediately and sent to maintenance.
If in any doubt about whether the casing is being kept closed, the apparatus must be returned immediately.
