Status LEDs
The NXS has five LEDs located above the DB-9 COM1 port, as described in
below.
During typical operation, only two of the LEDs above are illuminated: PWR (yellow) and RUN (green).
Power Up and Initial Checkout
Once you have installed the NXS and completed all wiring, power on the unit. See
“Connecting the 24 Vdc Supply,”
page 16. Verify that the PWR and RUN
light and remain lit.
Notes
•
Windows takes up to 1-1/2 minutes to load on the NXS.
•
Once the operating system has been successfully loaded, you can commission the controller over the
network using the appropriate Niagara host platform tool. This is the recommended method to access
any Niagara controller.
A NXS can also be accessed over a LAN using a networked Windows PC and a Remote Desktop Connection (Windows
Terminal Services).
