4. Check the throttle cable free play.

a. Remove the air cleaner cover (see page 32).

b. Check the throttle cable free play at the tip of the cable by pulling 

and releasing the throttle lever a few times.

Free play: 0.5–2.5 mm

If the free play is incorrect, loosen the lock nut and turn the 
adjusting nut in or out as required to obtain the correct free play.

c. Tighten the lock nut.

d. Check the throttle lever operates smoothly.

e. Reinstall the air cleaner cover (see page 32).
