Fluids
Fuses Make sure you have a full supply of spare fuses.
Check the major fasteners and tighten as needed.
Nuts & Bolts
Check the air pressure with a gauge and add air if needed (page ).
Examine the tread for wear (page ).
Look closely for nails, embedded objects, cuts, and other types of
damage (page
). Roll your motorcycle so you can inspect the
entire surface.
Check the condition of the rims and spokes.
Check the levels of the engine oil (page

brake fluid (page ), and final drive oil (page ). Add the
correct fluid as necessary, and investigate the cause of any low fluid
level.
Check the freeplay of the clutch lever (page ), rear brake pedal
(page ), and throttle grip (page ).
