The battery (1) is in the battery box behind

the left side cover.

Removal:

1. Make sure the ignition switch is OFF.

2. Remove the left side cover (page 30).

3. Remove the battery holder bolt (1).

4. Disconnect the negative (–) terminal (2)

from the battery.

5. Disconnect the positive (+) terminal (3)

from the battery.

6. Raise the battery holder (4), then

remove the battery (5) taking care not to

drop the terminal nuts.

Installation:

1. Reinstall in the reverse order of removal.

Be sure to connect the positive (+)

terminal first, then the negative (–)

terminal.

2. Check all bolts and other fasteners are

secure.
