Refer to the Safety Precautions on page 39.
Check the side stand spring (1) for damage 

and loss of tension, and the side stand 

 

assembly for freedom of movement.
If the side stand is squeaky or stiff, clean 

the pivot area and lubricate the pivot bolt 

with clean engine oil.

WHEEL REMOVAL

Refer to the Safety Precautions on page 39.

Front Wheel Removal (for Disc & CBS)

1.   Place the vehicle on its center stand.
2.  Raise the front wheel off the ground 

by placing a support block under the 

engine.

3.   Remove the front axle nut (1).
4.   Remove the front axle shaft (2) and the 

wheel.
