Models with Color Audio
Pairing a Phone
To use hands-free phone and streaming audio functions, you must first pair your
phone to the system. This can only be done when the vehicle is stopped. Use
the selector knob to make and enter selections.
Some functions are limited while driving. A message appears on the screen
when the vehicle is moving and the operation is canceled.
1. Press the Phone button to go to the Phone screen.
A prompt appears. Select
Yes
.
2. Make sure your phone is in search or discoverable mode.
Select OK.
3. When your phone appears on the list, select it by pressing the selector
knob.
If your phone does not appear:
Select Phone Not Found?
and search for
Bluetooth
®
devices using your
phone. From your phone, select
HandsFreeLink
.
4. The system gives you a pairing code on the audio/information screen.
Confirm if the pairing code on the screen and your phone match.
5. A notification appears on the screen if pairing is successful.
Applicable laws may prohibit the operation of
handheld electronic devices while operating a vehicle.

the touchscreen to make and enter selections.
Some functions are limited while driving. A message appears on the screen
when the vehicle is moving and the operation is canceled.
1. Press the
HOME
button, then select
Phone
.
2. Select
Connect Phone
.
3. Make sure your phone is in
discovery mode, then select
+
Connect New Device
.
4. The system searches for your phone. Select your phone when it appears on
the list.
If your phone does not appear:
Search for
HandsFreeLink
from your phone.
5. The system gives you a pairing code on the audio/information screen.
Compare it to the code that appears on your phone.
6. Select your desired functions, then select
Save
.
If there is an active connection to Apple CarPlay (see page 76) or Android
Auto (see page 78), pairing of additional
Bluetooth
-compatible devices is
unavailable.
Phone Pairing Tips:
• You cannot pair your phone while the vehicle is moving.
• Up to six phones can be paired.
• Your phone’s battery may drain faster when it is paired to the system.
