Replace the inner shaft with a
new one if necessary.

After checking that the inner
shaft is free from a part where
has become fine or where is
about to snap off, measure the
overall length of the inner shaft

measurement is within 967.5
977.5 mm (38.1

38.5 in). If the

measurement is out of the
specification, replace the inner
shaft with a new one.
Consult with your authorized
Honda dealer for replacement.
Overall length of new inner
shaft: 967.5 mm (38.1 in)

Insert the inner shaft into the
flexible shaft assembly to
assemble (see page

).

Apply grease to the entire outer
surface of the inner shaft evenly
from end to end.
