OPERATION
STOPPING THE ENGINE
Emergency Engine Stopping
To stop the engine in an emergency,
pull the emergency stop switch clip out
of the emergency stop switch by pulling
the emergency stop switch lanyard.
If the emergency stop switch is
activated while the engine is running,
the engine will shut down abruptly
and the boat will quickly decelerate,
potentially causing occupants and
objects to be thrown forward and/or
overboard.
If the emergency stop switch is
activated, the emergency stop switch
clip must be reinserted before the
engine can be restarted.
We suggest that you stop the engine
this way occasionally to verify that
the engine and emergency stop switch
are operating properly.
Normal Engine Stopping
1. Move the throttle grip to the
SLOW position.
After cruising, cool down the
engine by idling for a few minutes
before stopping the engine.
2. Push the emergency stop switch
button until the engine stops.
In the event that the engine does
not stop when you push the
emergency stop switch, pull the
emergency stop switch lanyard. If
the engine continues to run, move
the fuel valve lever to the OFF
position and pull the choke knob to
stop the engine.
