11. Keep the outside of the appliance clean. Always wait for it to cool
completely before cleaning. Use only a clean sponge, slightly
dampened in warm water, for cleaning. Follow the instructions in
the “Cleaning and maintenance” section.
12. The appliance is designed for heating and cooking food in containers that are suitable for use
on this type of appliance. Never use the appliance for purposes other than those for which it
is intended.
13. Before connecting the appliance to the mains, make sure that the voltage indicated on the
type plate corresponds to the mains voltage to which you will be connecting it. Connect the
appliance only to a properly grounded socket. Do not use an extension cable. Fully unroll the
power cable before use.
14. Do not place heavy objects on the power cable. Make sure that the power cable does not
hang over the edge of the table to avoid hot surfaces or sharp objects.
15. Only use the appliance on a flat, dry, clean and stable surface that is heat-resistant. Do not use
the appliance standing on a metal surface, such as a sink drip tray, on a surface that is heat-
sensitive or covered with a tablecloth, paper or other flammable material, near curtains and
other flammable or heat-sensitive materials.
16. Do not place the appliance on the edge of a table or worktop. Place the appliance away from
electric or gas cookers or other heat sources.
17. Make sure that a safe distance of at least 50 cm from the surface of flammable materials
is maintained above the hob in the direction of heat radiation and at least 10 cm in other
directions around the appliance.
18. The appliance must be placed on a worktop or table so that there is no cabinet or overhanging
shelf above it.
19. Make sure there is enough space around the appliance for air circulation, especially
during operation.
20. Do not leave the appliance unattended when it is in operation or plugged in.
21. Use only dishes that are intended for this type of appliance.
22. Always make sure that the dishes are placed correctly on the hob. The handles of the dishes
must be in such a position that they cannot be accidentally touched and overturned.
23. Do not use the appliance without a dish on the hob. Check the condition of the food regularly
during operation. Do not place any objects on the appliance.
24. Do not cover or block the ventilation openings.
25. Do not heat liquids or food in closed containers, such as cans, since this could cause an explosion.
26. Take extra care if you use oil or fat during cooking. Fat or oil heated to a high temperature
may ignite.
27. Take extra care when handling hot dishes (hot food or liquids inside) to avoid burns or scalding.
28. Use kitchen gloves when handling hot dishes.
29. The hob radiates residual heat for some time after use. Take extra care not to touch the
heated surface.
30. Turn off the appliance by turning it to the OFF position, disconnect the power cable from the
mains socket each time you finish cooking, if you leave the appliance unattended when not in
use and before cleaning, maintenance, relocation or storage.
31. Unplug the appliance by pulling on the plug, not the power cable. Otherwise, the power cable
or outlet may be damaged.
32. Allow the appliance to cool completely before moving, cleaning, maintaining or storing it.
Never move the appliance while it is in operation, when the dishes are on it or until it has
cooled down completely.
