OPERATION
16.1
Carry out a test run
Once the installation is complete, perform a test run to ensure that your machine is running
properly.
Make sure that you have read the safety instructions at the beginning of the manual and
that the machine is correctly adjusted.
Make sure that all tools and objects used during setup are removed from the machine.
Turn the machine on.
Listen and observe for abnormal noises or actions. The machine should run smoothly with
little or no vibration or friction.
Disturbing or unusual noises should be investigated and corrected before continuing to operate
the machine. Always disconnect the machine from power when investigating or correcting
potential problems.
16.2
Testing and adjusting the sanding belt track
If the sanding belt moves to one side after switching on,
the sanding belt track must be adjusted until the belt
remains centred on the wheels.
Adjustment procedure
Sanding belt tracking adjustment knob (1) turned
clockwise allows the sanding belt to move in the left
direction Counterclockwise in the opposite direction.
N O T E
Turn the adjustment knob only slowly
and wait and see how the belt runs.
16.1
Connection to a dust collection system
C A U T I O N
DO NOT operate the machine with a dust collection system that has previously been
used to collect wood dust or other flammable material. Hot metal sparks and
fragments can cause the material to ignite! Do not attach the unit to plastic parts or
dust collection devices that are not specifically designed for metal dust collection!
Connect the dust collection system to the machine's dust collector port using a suitable hose for
metal dust collection. The dimensions and the required dust collection performance can be found
in the technical data.
16.2
Operating the Machine
C A U T I O N
Avoid touching the grinding wheel and the workpiece immediately after use as they
become very hot.
