7.1 Before use
Before first use, wipe the appliance’s internal surfaces with a damp cloth or a sponge,
then wipe them dry with a paper towel . Spread a small amount of butter, margarine or oil
on the inside of the appliance .
Attention!
When the appliance is heated or operated for the first time, a trail of smoke or steam
may appear. This is a normal phenomenon that occurs when new internal components
are preheated.
The appliance can be used for toasting toast-type or common bread. Do not toast
slices of bread that are too large or too thick.
Be extremely careful when closing the cover (your fingers may get caught).
Before turning the appliance on, place it on a stable and flat surface resistant to high
temperatures.
7.2 Turning the appliance on and off
• To turn the appliance on, connect it to an alternating current source whose
parameters match those specified on the appliance’s label.
• To turn the appliance off, disconnect it from the alternating current source .
Attention!
The appliance should be connected to a readily accessible socket situated near
the appliance so that the appliance can be disconnected from the power source
immediately in the event any danger arises. The power outlet must be equipped with
protective earth pins.
7.3 Opening and closing the lid
• To open the lid, release the catch .

Open the packaging and carefully take the appliance out . Make sure that the set is
complete and that its components are undamaged . Check that plastic parts are not
broken and the power cord is not damaged. If you find that any components are missing
or damaged, contact the vendor and do not use the appliance . Keep the package or
recycle it in accordance with local regulations .
Caution! To keep children safe, do not leave packaging parts freely accessible.
