Lubrication
Apply special grease (grease for electric impact drills) to the inner circumference of the Connecting Rod [31] ,
O-rings (A) (FPM810) [28] in the Striker [27] and in the Piston [30] , the outer circumference of the Retainer
Sleeve [14] , the sliding portion of the Second Hammer [19] , Oil Seal [52] , Damper (A) [21] , Damper (B) [17] ,
Damper (C) [104] , Damper Washer [22] and the end surface of Spring (A) [5] . Seal 80 g (2.8 oz) of the
special grease into the Crank Case [34] (the Connecting Rod [31] side).
Apply Hitachi Motor Grease No. 29 to Needle Bearing (A) [55] , the pinion portion of the Armature Ass'y [60] ,
the Steel Ball D6.35 [10] and the Needle Roller D8 x 20 [13] . Seal 40 g (1.4 oz) of the Hitachi Motor Grease
No. 29 into the Crank Case [34] (the First Gear [54] side).
Oil seals
Be very careful not to damage the O-ring (S-26) [15] in the Retainer Sleeve [14] , O-ring (S-32) [16] on the
Retainer Sleeve [14] , O-ring (S-56) [23] on the Front Cover [12] , O-ring (1AS-60) [26] on the Cylinder Case
[24] , O-ring (S-75) [43] in the Crank Cover [37] , O-rings (A) (FPM810) [28] in the Striker [27] and in the Piston
[30] and Oil Seal [52] in the Crank Case [34] .
9-1-3. Screw locking agent TB1401
Apply screw locking agent TB1401 to all hex. socket hd. bolts M5 and M6. (As the hex. socket hd. bolts for M8
that secure the front cover and the hex. socket hd. bolts (w/flange) for M8 that secure the cylinder case are
special bolts, they cannot be re-used if removed. Use fresh service parts only.)
CAUTION: If bolts are loosened by vibration, it could cause damage to the hammer body. Ensure without
fail that screw locking agent is applied to threaded portions prior to reassembly.
9-1-4. Tightening rorque
(1) Attached bolts of front cover 39.2 0.98 N.m (400 10 kgf.cm, 347.2 8.7 in-lbs.)

(2) Attached bolts of cylinder case 19.6 N.m (200 kgf.cm, 173.6 in-lbs.)
(Hex. Socket Hd. Bolts (W/Flange) M8 x 30 [25] )
(3) Seal Lock Hex. Socket Hd. Bolts M6 [33] , [35] 9.80 N.m (100 kgf.cm, 86.8 in-lbs.)
(4) Seal Lock Hex. Socket Hd. Bolts M5 [36] , [40] 7.84 N.m (80 kgf.cm, 69.4 in-lbs.)
(5) Attached bolts of tail cover 4.41 0.49 N.m (45 5 kgf.cm, 39.1 4.3 in-lbs.)

(6) Attached bolts of crank case cover and back cover 3.92 0.49 N.m (40 5 kgf.cm, 34.7 4.3 in-lbs.)

(7) Attached bolts of handle 4.90 N.m (50 kgf.cm, 43.4 in-lbs.)
