Bleeding Air from Hydraulic Pump

IMPORTANT: If the hydraulic pump is not filled with oil,

it will be damaged when the engine is
started.

1. Loosen hose connectors (1) of the 8 main pumps to

release trapped air. Retighten pipe connectors (1)
when air stops and oil flows from connector (1).

2. Loosen hose connectors (2) on the drain line of the 2

fan drive pumps to release trapped air. Retighten pipe
connectors (2) when air stops and oil flows from pipe
connectors (2).

3. Start the engine and run at slow idle.

4. Purge air from the hydraulic system by running the

engine at slow idle and operating the control levers
slowly and smoothly for 15 minutes.

5. Position the machine as illustrated in the oil level

checking procedure.

6. Stop the engine. Remove the key from the key

switch.

7. Pull the pilot control shut-off lever to the LOCK

position.

8. Check the hydraulic oil tank gauge. Add oil if

necessary.
