(1) Push the top of the microphone cover to release the
two tabs, and then remove the microphone cover in the
direction of
the arrow.
(2) Remove the microphone in the direction of the arrow.

(3) Turn the lens hood in the direction of the arrow to
remove it from the front case.
Loader (A), Drive mechanism unit (B)

Remove the two screws holding the loader.
Lead rack (C), Rack spring (D), and Seek
motor (E)

Remove the four screws, and then remove the unit
cover from drive mechanism unit.
(3)
Disconnect the flat cable from the drive block circuit
board.
(4)
Remove two screws, and then remove the seek motor
from drive mechanism unit.
(5)
Remove screw, and then remove the lead rack from
the drive mechanism unit.
(6)
Remove the rack spring from the lead rack.
Caution when reinstalling:
Attach the rack spring in a new lead rack, as shown in
the figure. Do not make scratch tooth on lead rack.
Because invisible tiny dust on screw shaft of seek
motor may cause future trouble after significant run,
there are 2 ways to protect it.
1) Replace seek motor.
2) Wipe and apply new grease.
when you choose 2), proceed followings. (Not
necessary to proceed in case of new motor.)
1) Wipe out old grease on the screw.
2) Apply new grease (type: FLOIL HD-20A),
as shown in the figure.
Tighten lead rack fixing screw with about 0.07Nm
(700gf-cm) torque, when assemble the lead rack.
This head dish of the special screw is very thin and
easily to be damaged. If screwing torque is too much,
the screw head can be damaged and it results loose
screwing.
