Traffic and Health Warnings
Always use your best judgement and operate your bicycle in a safe manner. Do not become distracted
by your HIOD One while riding your bicycle, and always be fully aware of all driving conditions.
Minimize the amount of time spent viewing the Control Units display while riding. Do not change
settings or access any functions requiring prolonged use of the device controls while riding. Pull over
in a safe and legal manner before attempting such operations.
Check and obey the applicable laws and regulations on the use of earphones while operating your
HIOD One in traffic. Only use one earphone or stop listening to music or end conversations if you find it
disruptive or distracting while operating any type of vehicle or performing another activity that
requires your full attention. Excessive exposure to sound at high volumes can cause hearing damage.
Set the volume to a safe level. Do not disassemble your HIOD One due to a risk of electric shock.
Electrostatic Discharge
Mounting the electrostatic discharge protectors on your HIOD One will give you an enhanced
protection against Electrostatic Discharge (ESD). The ESD protectors can be found in the HIOD One
product box. Pull the protectors over the 3.5 mm socket of the adapter cables to the Voice Unit so the
protectors cover the metal before jacking in the microphone and the earphones. During normal usage
of HIOD One, for instance while cycling, the risk for ESD is minimal. ESD can in rare cases lead to that
the units turn off in which case you have to turn them on again. It is recommended to use the ESD
protectors if you are in any way uncertain.
Water Resistance
To make sure your HIOD One fulfils the IPX7 standard of water resistance, make sure you attach the
adapter cables to the Voice Unit. The adapter cables can be found in the HIOD One product box.
NOTE! Without the adapter cables for waterproofing or the electrostatic discharge protectors it is not
guaranteed that HIOD One is waterproof nor fully ESD protected.
Handling your HIOD One
Though HIOD One is designed to withstand the rigors of outdoor use you must treat it with proper
care and caution as any other precision instrument. Your HIOD One is a complex electronic device so
protect it from impacts and rough handling to avoid serious damage. The HIOD One is water and
sweat resistant but make sure you wipe it off after usage. Keep it dry and do not store it in a damp
place. Do not use chemicals or detergents to clean the product. Do not put HIOD One in direct sunlight
for an extended period of time or in hot areas. High temperature will shorten the life of the electronic
device, destroy the battery and distort the plastic. Do not expose HIOD One to extreme cold. Do not
use incompatible accessories since they may damage your HIOD One.
