using the traditional US Braille code, some areas of the unit, such as the "to" field
of the E-mail program, contain a "computer edit box" requiring you to enter text in
computer Braille.
To enter a capital letter in computer Braille, use the upper case indicator (Space-
U" before the letter you want capitalized. For example, if you want to enter H in a
computer edit box, press "Space-U" then H. If you press "Space-U" twice, caps
lock is turned on. Press "Space-U" again to turn off caps lock.
You can also press "Space-Backspace" simultaneously with the letter to capitalize
it. To input the "at sign," you may either use "Space-U" followed by dot 4, or
"Space-Backspace-dot 4".
To enter numbers in contracted or uncontracted Braille, use the "number sign
followed by the number. However, when using computer Braille, you use no
number sign and must enter numbers as "dropped" numbers (Nemeth numbers).
2.8 Multi-Tasking
Polaris MINI can run many tasks at once. For example, you can work with the
Word Processor while listening to music, and place calculations into a document
at the same time. To do this, open the Media Player and play a music file. While
the audio is playing, press the "F1" key to bring up the "Program" menu and launch
the Word Processor.
