IV Pole/Arm Rotates Freely

1. The IV pole/arm swings freely and does not retain its position during 

transport.

Inspect the adjustment of the IV pole/arm assembly (refer to 
procedure 4.16).

2. Inspect the friction washers on the upper IV arm hinge. The washers are in 

good working condition.

Replace the damaged friction washer. If this solves the problem, 
go to “Final Actions” on page 2-5. Otherwise, go to step 3.

3. Adjust the IV pole/arm clutch assemblies. This solves the problem.
