4.2 Jump-starting a vehicle engine
iMPoRTANT
Do not use the Reanimator whilst the
installed battery is being charged.
Please ensure that the battery in ques-
tion is a 12 V battery.
1. Switch the vehicle ignition to OFF before
you connect the cables.
2. Before you use the Reanimator, ensure
that the switch is in the “OFF” position. Al-
ways ensure that the cable clamps do not
touch each other.
3. Only use the Reanimator in a well-venti-
lated location.
4. Connect the Reanimator to the vehicle
battery as described in Section 4.1. If you
have connected the clamps the wrong
way around, an audio alarm will sound
and the LED (10) will illuminate. In this
case, do
not turn the OFF/START switch
of the Reanimator to the “START” posi-
tion. This may cause severe damage to the
Reanimator or the vehicle. Please connect
the clamps correctly without delay.
5. If you have connected the clamps cor-
rectly, turn the OFF/START switch of the
Reanimator to the “START” position.
6. Start the engine. If the engine does not start
within 3 to 5 seconds, stop the starting pro-
cedure and wait for at least 3 minutes be-
fore trying to start the engine again. (The
Reanimator has time to cool down over this
period.)
7. If the engine starts, turn the OFF/START switch
of the Reanimator to the “OFF” position.
The LED (11) symbolizes that the tempera-
ture is too high (above 60 °C). Do not use
the Reanimator in this state under any cir-
cumstances. Leave the Reanimator to rest
until the unit has cooled down.
8. Disconnect the Reanimator from the vehi-
cle as described in Section 4.1.7.
9. Connect the battery clamps to the in-
tended storage compartments again and
charge the Reanimator.
4.3 Always follow the following steps
when using the other functions of
the Reanimator:
1. Ensure that the battery clamps are secure-
ly locked in their supports.
2. After use, charge the installed battery
again fully as quickly as possible.
4.4 Supply of a 12 V DC device:
The Reanimator can be used as a volt-
age source for 12 V DC devices which are
equipped with a 12 V connection. Ensure
that the device which is to be supplied with
power is switched off before you insert the
connector of the 12 V DC device into the 12 V
DC socket of the Reanimator.
