Offsetting brake lining wear
8.4.7.1
Hydraulically operated rim brake
(Alternative equipment)
The
setting bolt
on the
brake lever
of the hydraulic rim
brake is used to offset the brake lining wear. If the
profile of the brake pads has a remaining depth of only
1 mm, the brake pads will need to be replaced.
In order to reduce the free travel and offset the
brake lining wear, screw the
setting bolt
in.
To increase the free travel, screw the
setting bolt
out.
With the optimum setting the action point, i.e. the
point at which the brake takes effect, is reached
after 10 mm of empty travel.
