d
d
– Distance between the coupling eye and the Forced Cylinder coupling
- AMB and ADR Axles:
d=250mm
/ FAD Axles:
d=200mm
“The main cylinder connects the trailer/semi-trailer’s drawbar and the tractor. The main cylinder is responsible for
actuating the hydraulic system that orientates the steering axle.
When installing the cylinder, ensure that the wheels of the
tractor and trailer/semi-trailer are fully aligned, and that the hydraulic cylinder is half extended.
The coupling distance
d
between the coupling eye and the cylinder’s coupler varies according to the brand of the forced
steering axle. Elevations must be respected when connected the trailer/semi-trailer to the tractor to ensure that the system
functions correctly. This connection depends on the tractor’s configuration type and on its coupling components. Therefore,
it should be made such as to avoid collisions between the two pieces of equipment when they articulate.“
Check and adjust the hydraulic circuit regularly!
- The circuit is adjusted in the factory. However, the system
should be checked and adjusted regularly.
1 - Align the wheels of the trailer/semi-trailer.
2 - Open the stopcocks and check the pressure level. If
AMB or ADR axles are fitted and the value is lower than 50
bar, use the manual pump to pressurise the system until
the pressure gauge reads 50 bar. If FAD axles are fitted
and the value is lower than 80 bar, pressurise the system
to 80 bar.
3 - Close the stopcocks once 80 bar / 50 bar have been
reached.
4 - Test the system before starting work.
