Synchronization (Flash triggering)
Synchronization by cable
Via the synchronization socket 4 the power pack is con-
nected to the camera using a synchronization cable with 6,3
mm phone jack. The synchronization circuit is made up of
state-of-the-art semi-conductor technology and enables
secure triggering of the flash even with older cameras with
mechanical contacts. Due to the many different electronical
circuits in cameras for controlling synchronization, we cannot
take any liability for possible damage to cameras triggering
flashes. Please contact the camera manufacturer before
using an unusual camera.
The radio receiver is plugged into the generator’s synchro-
nized plug socket
4 and one of the three work channels is
selected via the slide switch on the side. The plug-in radio
receiver together with the generator is automatically switched
on or off via switch
2 . The receiver automatically switches off
when not connected.
Units with a built-in radio link let you select the radio chan-
nels by pushing the button
9a (output regulator). Push 1x and
the display switches to the radio channels: OFF, C1, C2, C3,
and respectively the FREEMASK channels F1, F2, F3. The
channel selection and the on/off setting of the radio receiver
are done by turning the output regulator! A dot blinks in the
bottom right corner of the display when the radio function is
switched on. The output will be shown automatically again if
no further entries are done within about 3 s. Please note the
applicable Strobe Wizard / FREEMASK operating in-
structions!
Synchronization by slave
The built-in slave
7 can trigger the power pack. Triggering is
then performed by an „incoming" flash, which was emitted by
another flashlight. This mode of operation is switched on using
push-button
8 until control LED lights up.
The slave is an impulse photocell. It can only operate when
the triggering flash has a higher f-stop than the ambient light.
Please be aware that the ambient light that strikes the slave
may never be too strong. If this cannot be avoided, please
switch the slave off using the slave button
8 and release the
flash by cable or radio signal.
