APC A utomatic P eople C ounter
First generation people counter.
APS A dvanced P eople S ensor
Second generation people sensor, successor of the APC
APS-M APS for M obile applications such as busses and trains.
APS-RS APS for R etail & S ecurity and other stationary applications.
CSV C omma s eparated v alues
File format where values are separated by commas. Those
files can be imported into Microsoft Excel.
DHCP D ynamic H ost C onfiguration P rotocol
Protocol and service dynamically distributing network config-
uration parameters, such as IP address and servers.
DNS D omain N ame S ystem
Resolves queries for FQDN host names into IP addresses
FQDN F ully Q ualified D omain N ame
Address of a device or server using DNS instead of an IP
address
FTP F ile T ransfer P rotocol
Protocol for data transfer; used for transferring the counting
data registered by the APS
H.264 Video compression standard. This is used by APS video
storing and streaming.

Technique used in imaging to reproduce a greater dynamic
range of luminosity.
HTML5 H yper t ext M arkup L anguage, fifth revision
Markup language used for structuring and presenting con-
tent on the World Wide Web since 2014. This is used by the
user interface of the APS.
HTTP H yper t ext T ransfer P rotocol
Application protocol for data transmissions in networks.
HTTP is the basis for data communications in the World
Wide Web.
HTTPS H yper t ext T ransfer P rotocol S ecure
Application protocol for secure communication in networks
IP address I nternet P rotocol address
Manually or dynamically assigned in the network

Used by the APS REST interface.
