Refractory, Logs/Grate and Valve Assembly
Removal
It may become necessary to remove the refractory, logs/
grate and valve assembly. This task should be performed
by a qualified service technician. The refractory and base
pan
do not
need to be removed to service the burner as-
sembly.

1. To remove the top refractory panel, lift the top refractory
panel up, slide the side panel forward. See Figure 4.3.
2. To remove the side refractory panels, slide the panel
forward as shown in Figure 4.4.
NOTICE:
The back panel may fall forward when side
panels are removed. Damage could occur.
3. Remove the back refractory panel by lifting it over the
burner assembly. See Figure 4.5.
4. Remove the two top logs from the log/grate assem-
bly. These logs are not secured to the assembly with
screws. See Figure 4.6.

5. Remove screw from each tab at the front of the log/
grate assembly that secures the assembly to the base
pan. See Figure 4.7.
