The condition of the stud welding unit is monitored after switching-on. The display
shows three bars and the following parameters are monitored:
– Deviation from usual charging time,
– Unit temperature,
– Defective thyristor,
– Control discharge relay.
After the self-test, the charging voltage last set is shown in the display. During the
self-test, an automatic self-formation of the capacitors is performed, among other
things. The self-formation is a step-by-step loading of the capacitors in a certain
amount of time. This function contributes to longer capacitor service life. If the char-
ging voltage last set is above 100 V, an automatic self-formation of the capacitors is
performed during the self-test.
