OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS
!
WARNING!
Ensure during assembly that the power cable is not squeezed and that it has
sufficient play. Wear protective gloves whenever doing any work on the saw
chain.
!
WARNING!
Always loosen guide bar nuts before turning chain tension adjuster
screw, otherwise clutch cover and chain tension adjuster will be damaged.
Do not over-tighten guide bar nuts, damage to the saw may occur.
Fitting the guide bar and saw chain (FIG 3)
1) Check that the chain brake (6) is not active, in the backward position.
2) Remove the clamp nut (2) and the sprocket cover (1).
3) Put the chain guide bar onto the threaded stud (9) and push it to the drive
sprocket (11)
4) Put the chain on the bar, beginning from the top, ensure cutter teeth are
facing direction of chain rotation
5) Ensure chain fits around drive sprocket (11) and check that tension pin (8)
fits into bottom hole of bar.
6) Position the chain cover and clamp the nut (2) tightly.
7) Adjust chain tension screw (7) so that when lifting the chain and entire drive
link is just visible. Ensure chain rotates smoothly on bar, fully tighten knob.
8) Do not over-tense the chain as this will reduce life of chain bar and motor.
9) Do not under-tense the chain as this will make it fall down while working.
Switch ON
Have a firm grip on the handles. To operate, ensure both the switch (4) and the
safety lock-off on the side are depressed simultaneously.
Switch OFF
