MAINTENANCE
WARNING:
Keep tool pointed in a safe direction at all times.
Never attempt to drive fasteners into materials too hard to penetrate, at too
steep an angle, or too near the edge of the workpiece. The fastener can
ricochet causing personal injury.
Disconnect tool from air supply before loading fasteners, doing any
disassembly, maintenance, clearing a jammmed fastener, leaving the work
area, moving the tool to another location, or handing the tool to another person.
CAUTION:
Clean and inspect the tool daily. Carefully check for proper operation
and safety mechanism. Do not use the tool unless the safety mechanism is
functional, or if the tool is leaking air or needs any other repair.
2. Load the fasteners following the directions in the LOADING THE FASTENERS section.
3. Connect the tool to the air supply. Make sure the air pressure is within the
minimum and maximum operating pressures as noted in the SPECIFICATIONS section.
4. Hold the arm and press the shoe against the work surface.
5. Strike the strike cap with the provided mallet to drive the fastener out.
6. Lift the tool off of the work surface.
7. In certain tight spaces, it may be useful to remove the handle.
8.
bottom of the shoe. Choose the foot plate thickness that places a fastener correctly in
the apex of the angle between the flooring tongue and its vertical edge.
CLEARING A JAMMED FASTENER
CAUTION:
Disconnect tool from air supply before cleaning and inspection.
Correct all problems before putting the tool back in service.
1.
solutions to wipe exterior of tool only if necessary. Do not soak tool with
cleaning solutions. Such solutions can damage O-rings and internal parts.
2. Inspect safety mechanism to make sure system is complete and
functional: no loose or missing parts, no binding or sticking parts.
3. Keep all screws tight. Loose screws can cause personal injury or damage the
tool.
4. If the tool is used without an in-line oiler, place 2 drops of air tool oil into the
air inlet of the tool at the beginning of each workday and after about 1 hour
of continuous use. Frequent but not excessive lubrication is required for best
performance. Oil added through the airline connection will lubricate all internal
parts. Use only air tool oil. Do not use oil with detergents or other additives.
These can cause damage through accelerated wear to the seals in the tool.
5. Use a small amount of oil on all exterior moving parts and pivots.
6. Dirt and water in the air supply are major causes of pneumatic tool wear
the section on SETUP: AIR SYSTEM for more information.
Two foot plates are provided with this tool. They provide a non-marring surface on the
WARNING!
Failure to remove all fasteners will cause the fasteners to eject from the front
of the tool
.
1. Disconnect the air supply from the tool.
2. Remove all nails from the magazine (See Loading / Unloading the Nailer). Failure to do
so will cause the nails to eject form the front of the nailer when the nose assembly is
removed.
3. Loosen cap screws on nose of tool. Slide nose downward and remove from tool to
expose jammed fastener.
4. Reinstall nose assembly in reverse order in step #3.
5. Make sure the trigger and Work Contact Element (WCE) move freely up and down
without sticking or binding.
