Unpacking
When unpacking, check to make sure all parts are included.
If any parts are missing or broken, please call Harbor Freight Tools at the number on the
cover of this manual as soon as possible.
Installation
Warning: Injury or death could occur if this Electric Winch comes apart from its mount-
ing location when it is under load. For that reason, it should only be installed by a
qualified technician.
1. Connect the black (negative) Battery Cable (33), along with the thin black wire coming
from the Solenoid Assy., to the ground screw below the motor as shown below.
Securely tighten.
Note: The Electric Winch must be mounted close to the battery since the connecting
cables are only 5 feet long, and cables must not be spliced or extended.
2. Mount the Fairlead to the front of the Mounting Frame (not supplied) using bolts, nuts,
and washers (not supplied). See photo at the top of page 6.
3. Mount Electric Winch to the Mounting Frame using Mounting Bolts (19). Securely
tighten.
4. Secure the Mounting Frame to the vehicle using use SAE grade 5 bolts (not supplied)
or higher with torque to 35 feet-lbs. It should be aligned and secured to a solid part of
the vehicle where the full rated load will be evenly distributed. Also remember that the
Electric Winch is designed for horizontal pull, not vertical.
