Troubleshooting table
Malfunctions can occur in all electrical appliances. This does not necessarily mean
there is a defect in the appliance. For this reason, please check the tables to see if you
can correct the malfunction.

Risk of electric shock in case of improper repair!
Never try to repair a defective or suspected defective appliance yourself. This may
put your own and future users’ lives at risk. Only authorised specialists are allowed to
carry out this repair work.

Compressor off, in-
terior light off.
No electricity to socket.
Check the socket with another appliance.
Mains plug is loose.
Check the tightness of the mains plug.
Compressor off, in-
terior light on.
The temperature control-
ler (12) is set to ‘off’.
Turn the temperature controller to a higher
position (see “Freezing foods/storing frozen
foods“ on page GB-15).
Desired temperature has
been reached.
Further cooling not required. When the in-
side temperature rises, the compressor au-
tomatically switches on.
Appliance cools
too quickly.
The temperature controller is
set at too high a level.
Select a lower setting (see “Freezing foods/
storing frozen foods“ on page GB-15).
The appliance
doesn’t cool suffi-
ciently.
The temperature setting is
set too low.
Select a higher setting (see “Freezing foods/
storing frozen foods“ on page GB-15).
Door not tightly closed or
door seal is not completely
tight.
See ‘Checking and cleaning the door seals’
on page GB-18.
The appliance is near a heat
source.
Place insulation plate between the applianc-
es or change location.
Food has been stored warm. Only store cooled foods.
Too many goods frozen.
Freeze a maximum of 2 kg at any one time.
Thick ice layer in the freezer
compartment.
Defrost freezer compartment (see “14. Plug
the mains plug back into the socket and turn
the temperature controller (12) to level “7”.“
on page GB-19).
Ambient temperature is too
low or too high.
Adjust ambient temperature to climate class
(see ‘data sheet’ at the end of this user man-
ual).
Compressor seems defec-
tive.
Set the temperature controller to ‘7’. If the
compressor does not switch on within an
hour, please contact our Service department
(see page GB-27).
